Jason joined Centerbrook in May 2016 following a career spent entirely in the sports world. That’s not to say that architecture is a completely foreign subject.

Jason grew up the son of a general contractor in the small town of Greenfield in west central Illinois. From early youth he was no stranger to hammers and nails, ladders and roofs, plaster and sheetrock. He spent weekends and summers from junior high through graduate school working alongside his father, doing everything from shingling and painting jobs to new construction and renovations.

Growing up, Jason was also enamored with athletics. Realizing his playing days would not continue after high school, Jason got his first athletic administration experience when he followed the advice of his mother and joined the sports information office as a student assistant at Illinois College, where she’s worked for nearly 25 years. Although Jason studied business management at IC, by graduation his path was set in communications. Following four years working in collegiate athletics he spent eight in motorsports.

Although he is not picking up a nail gun or paint brush anytime soon, things have symbolically come full circle for Jason at Centerbrook. Managing the firm’s public relations and social media efforts, Jason is fascinated by the design process, and tracking the construction progress of each project is a trip down memory lane.

Jason enjoys spending his free time with family and traveling. A diehard St. Louis Cardinals fan transplanted to New England, Jason endeavors to see his beloved Redbirds once a year in person and he and wife, Jennifer, have visited 14 different major league ballparks together. Jason also relishes opportunities to take his son, Cameron, to see monster trucks and various other motorized vehicles, and has passed on his love of NASCAR short-track racing.

Jason, Jennifer and Cameron reside in Rhode Island.
