Chakraborty to Take Lecture Series Stage

The Centerbrook Architects Lecture Series presented by the Essex Library Association is proud to welcome historian Kathleen James-Chakraborty for its upcoming Dec. 9 program.

James-Chakraborty’s lecture titled “Expanding the Canon: Four Women in Architecture” will showcase examples of women who were committed to innovative design in civic, commercial and domestic building.

An accomplished author of numerous books about European architecture, James-Chakraborty is currently serving as the Vincent Scully Visiting Professor of Architectural History at her alma mater, Yale University. Her permanent appointment is as professor of art history at University College Dublin in Ireland.

The event is one of many programs provided by the Essex Library. It will be held in “The Cube” at Centerbrook Architects & Planners’ office, located at 67 Main Street in Centerbrook.
