Centerbrook was invited to present Lessons from the Construction Trailer: How to Establish a Quality Assurance Program for Design and Contract Documents at this year’s Build Boston conference. The workshop demonstrated the process Centerbrook has developed for the in-house quality assurance reviews the firm performs on all its projects.

James A. Coan, Centerbrook’s Director of Architectural Practice and Building Science moderated the panel. Panelists were Michael V. Garner, a Centerbrook Associate; Joseph Crouse, a Program Manager with Program Management Group in Connecticut; and Paul Male, a cost estimator and Vice-President with Faithful + Gould in Boston.

The seminar discussed the importance of strong quality assurance reviews, understanding the owner and cost estimator’s needs during the review process, the key components of a review, and how to implement a successful quality assurance program in one’s own office.

Build Boston is the largest convention and trade show in the Northeast for the design and construction industry with more than 15,000 building professionals in attendance each year. It is sponsored by the Boston Society of Architects.
