Chair Share: Justin Hedde

We’re inaugurating a Centerbrook Chairshop Chair Share retrospective to celebrate the craftsmanship and ingenuity of their makers and the beauty of their chairs. First up is Justin Hedde, whose Baltic Birch creation is made for kids. About to become a Dad when he made it, Justin was inspired by ice cream cones and soft, safe edges. His chair, composed of four cone-shaped legs joined at 26 degree angles, has nooks and crannies for kids to explore. It’s not just about the little ones, though. In profile, a careful eye might see Mies van der Rohe’s Barcelona Chair rendered with a few more curves. And don’t miss the golden linen fabric, which Justin chose for its texture and sheen and to give it all a playful vibe.
