Country School Connections

We have welcomed student visitors from The Country School a number of times through the years in one of the many connections we have with the school in Madison, Connecticut, including a campus master plan.

Dr. Amy Cornell, a science teacher and robotics coach at TCS (and the wife of our own Peter Cornell), provided the following details, pictures and captions from the latest visit.

At TCS, sixth grade science students do an architecture unit, where they design and build their own 3D structures. The class recently visited and toured Centerbrook, and presented their designs for feedback from the architects. The structures were designed to help communities affected by natural disasters, including earthquakes, tsunamis, volcanic eruptions, floods, droughts, wildfires, tornadoes and avalanches.
