Job Listing: Architectural Designer

Centerbrook Architects is currently looking for Architectural Designers with at least a Bachelor or Master’s Degree in the field of Architecture, Interior Architecture or other related fields. Previous working experience at Architectural firms preferred.

From the beginning, our work has spanned from urban design to small architectural details that make buildings memorable.

The firm’s nineteenth-century compound of mill buildings, a former wood boring bit factory, is both the firm’s home and its vital center of experimentation where many streams of influence enrich the design. An in-house theater hosts lectures and symposia on many topics, including how to make places distinct and how to perfect the craft of building.

A collaborative firm with an exceptional history of building, Centerbrook performs many other services such as project management, planning, interior design, sculpture, landscape and site design, industrial design, furniture and lighting design, fund raising, and graphic design.

Key responsibilities:

-Assist with technical planning and execution of projects from inception through completion utilizing Revit.

-Collect, organize, and evaluate programming data; Assist to develop a program that reflects the owner’s requirements and desires for a project.

-Participate in site analysis and planning. Participate in discussions regarding project scope, quality and cost.

-Participate in discussions regarding energy efficiency and sustainability.

-Participate in the development and visualization of alternative conceptual design proposals.

-Participate in client meetings.

-Prepare construction documents, develop technical solutions and work with clients and consultants.

-Communicate design ideas to client with three-dimensional (3-D) computer aided design software. Prepare diagrams illustrating spatial relationships and functional adjuncts.

-Make digital design, including creating high end architectural renderings and modeling of building details and components using Revit, Adobe Photoshop, 4D Studio and Lumion software.

-Operate CAD equipment in preparing drawings and modellings.

Job Requirements:

-Previous working experience at Architectural firms preferred

-Full understanding of appropriate codes (ACHA and other healthcare, municipal, state, UBC and ADA) and actively stays updated on code changes.

-Bachelor's degree with the field of Architecture, Interior Architecture or other related fields required.

-Proficiency in Revit required
