Building 6
With renovation of a key Saint Andrew’s School structure known as Building 6, Centerbrook is advancing implementation of its 2015 campus master plan for this pre-K-12 independent boarding and day school in Boca Raton, Florida.
The project is intended to deliver state-of-the-art learning spaces while respecting the building’s historic Bahamian character.
Twenty-two newly equipped classrooms, each opening onto a gracious wrap-around porch, will support student learning with flexibility derived from furniture that’s easily reconfigurable. Classrooms will have nesting worktables on wheels, lightweight movable chairs, and specialty seating for breaking out in small groups. Wall-to-wall white boards will support teaching and student problem-solving. Colorful carpet tiles will enliven classrooms, and high-performing ceilings will improve acoustical performance. Pendant and linear recessed LED fixtures will provide uniform lighting on desktop surfaces while improving energy efficiency.
State-of-the-art computer and audio visual technology will be introduced in the form of high definition projectors, audio systems, and networked teacher stations.
