Izakaya Ittoku and Yume Ga Arukara Restaurants
Centerbrook partnered with Lesley University to transform two existing retail spaces on its Porter Campus into new locations for two Japanese restaurants, Izakaya Ittoku and Yume Ga Arukara.
Working closely with each culinary team, Centerbrook reimagined the interiors to express the character of their offerings. A refreshed façade establishes an engaging and contemporary look, strengthening the university’s presence on Massachusetts Avenue, a busy urban thoroughfare.
Inside, Centerbrook-designed lighting fixtures, tile patterns, millwork, and finishes give each restaurant its own identity. At Izakaya Ittoku, a carefully crafted sushi bar showcases the joy of the chefs’ work and a performance-like dining moment for guests. The bar’s detailing, lighting, and materials honor traditional Japanese craft while supporting efficient service in a compact footprint. At Yume Ga Arukara, a demonstration kitchen highlights the artistry of udon-making, bringing guests into closer contact with the culinary process.
The two restaurants are vibrant, contemporary spaces where design, culture, cuisine, and community unite.
