Athletic Field House

Quinnipiac University commissioned Centerbrook to design a 1,500-seat athletic field house for on its York Hill campus in Hamden, Connecticut.

The concept featured a 200-meter track along with an infill artificial turf center for intramural and student recreation use as well as practices by various sports teams.

Included in the building plans are indoor track facilities for triple jump, pole, high jump, long jump, shot put, and locker rooms for home and visiting teams. Other Quinnipiac athletic programs projected to use the facility included lacrosse, soccer, baseball, softball, rugby, field hockey, golf, as well as certain aspects of the university’s strength and conditioning program. The design also incorporated racquetball and squash courts for recreational use.
