Kiwanis Floating Fountain
The Kiwanis Floating Fountain was created as a signature feature of Centerbrook's redesign of Dayton's Great Miami River waterfront. The broader project transformed a flood-control levee into a public park with stepped seating, a riverside esplanade, overlooks, and spaces for festivals, reconnecting downtown with a river that had long been hidden behind flood-control infrastructure.

Commissioned by the Kiwanis Club of Dayton, the floating fountain brought movement and delight to the river itself. Planted floating gardens, wind-powered pumps, tipping barrels, waterwheels inspired by the Wright Brothers' hometown, and playful water features created a memorable civic landmark. Together, the riverfront improvements helped make the Great Miami River the setting for festivals, recreation, and everyday public life.
