Laboratory Expansion

Centerbrook designed an addition that doubled the size of the Trudeau Institute's research campus while strengthening its connection to the Adirondack landscape. The new laboratories, offices, and support spaces continue the Institute's tradition of scientific research while responding more directly to the site's wooded setting and views of the lake.

A gently curving building follows the natural contours of the hillside and extends into a preserved grove of trees. Unlike the original facility, both laboratories and offices overlook the lake, bringing daylight and views of the surrounding landscape into the daily life of the Institute.
