Green Street Arts Center
The Green Street Arts Center is the result of a partnership formed between Wesleyan University, the City of Middletown, and the North End Action Team (NEAT), a resident-led advocacy group, to create an anchor for the revitalization efforts in the north end of Middletown. The Center's success offers town/gown inspiration for communities everywhere.
Working with limited funds, Centerbrook transformed a vacant schoolhouse into a vibrant community arts center. The Green Street Arts Center's offerings include an after-school program and a wide variety of affordable classes and workshops six days a week for children and adults in dance, music, visual arts, sound recording, videography, and creative writing.
